We aim to offer reasonably priced moorings in a secure secluded rural location, yet close enough to the local community for those victual needs we all require. Child and dog friendly, with wildlife abounding including deer and swans, river and pool fishing available by subscription. The site now has a gravelled car park approach, leading to linear moorings along the towpath and offside against the island with pleasant views of the river to either cruise or watch others cruise by. Cruising to the west via the electronic operated Woodnook Lock onto the canalized section towards Stanley ferry with its ancient listed viaduct or East to Castleford junction, then North to Lemonroyd with its commercial oil terminal before Leeds, Bingley Five Rise and all points North West or further east towards Goole and the rivers Ouse and Ure, or out onto the Humber then South via the tidal river Trent. For those wishing a calmer visit to the south you can also go South via the West past Wakefield and onto the Huddersfield Canals.
